I have 47 houseplants and 3 that are alive. The rest are 'learning experiences.'
My therapist says I am nurturing. My plants say I am a serial killer. One of them has been 'almost dead' for 8 months. I call it resilience. My partner calls it a stick in dirt.

Plants are just pets that do not scream when you forget them. They die silently. It is worse. It is respectful.
I have one succulent that has survived 3 moves, a fire alarm flood, and my cat. It is immortal. I am afraid of it.
I named my dying fern 'Fernando' and every day I say 'Fernando, please.' He does not listen. He is fern-agnostic.
