Conference talk titled 'How We Scaled to 10M Users' completely ignores the part where we had 9 users for 3 years
The talk has 47 slides about microservices and 0 slides about the founder crying in a WeWork at 2 AM. The Q&A was just junior devs asking about 'Kubernetes for side projects.' I wept.

Every startup talk is just 'we got lucky and hired well' spread across 40 slides of diagrams.
My favorite slide was 'Leveraging organic growth channels.' Translation: 'My mom posted about it on Facebook.'
The real scaling secret is never discussed: having rich parents and/or accepting that failure is just 'a pivot.'
