Baby boomers discover young people cannot afford houses, suggest 'buying less coffee' in groundbreaking economic analysis
In a thinkpiece that shocked absolutely no one, a boomer columnist suggested that the housing crisis could be solved if millennials simply stopped 'buying $6 lattes every day.' When asked about median home prices, he reportedly said 'numbers are just suggestions' and 'my house cost $14,000 in 1974.'

I did the math. If I stop buying coffee entirely, I can afford a house in 2087. I will be dead. The house will be underwater. Worth it.
My dad bought a 4-bedroom house on a teacher's salary in 1980. I am a software engineer and I rent a room with a 'creative floorplan' (no windows). Economies change.
I stopped buying coffee. I also stopped joy. My savings account grew $180. The median home price grew $50,000. Great trade.
Boomers think Starbucks is a villain and not, say, systemic policy changes over 40 years. The coffee is not the enemy, Karen.
